Oh, God is correct. Performed with lip-smacking dedication by Jinkx Monsoon, Maestro is the god of music. (However much less in a ‘jam together with this Dream Theater B-side’ than in a ‘destroy the universe by sucking all of the music out of it’ approach). And if Maestro’s “Pantheon” seems to be the Pantheon of Discord, a longtime a part of Whoniverse lore, then the Physician is correct to panic.
Launched in official Physician Who quick tales and comics, and referenced on display in spinoff The Sarah Jane Adventures (2007 – 2011), the Pantheon of Discord is a bunch of extra-dimensional beings who simply need to watch the worlds burn. The Physician responds, “I’ve recognized the legends of the Pantheon since I used to be somewhat boy. I fought your shadows and your changelings. I by no means thought we’d truly meet”. After which in a traditional Physician transfer, he annoys the Trickster by observing that it seems “a bit lonely for a pantheon”. The Trickster tells the Physician that it embodies multitudes and that, cling on a bloody minute, he’s one to speak about loneliness! The entire thing ends with the Trickster being banished exterior the universe as soon as once more by a heroic sacrifice by Sarah-Jane’s fiancé.
