Oceanator Declares New Album ‘The whole lot Is Love And Demise’: Hear “Get Out”

[ad_1]

In 2022, Oceanator launched her second album Nothing’s Ever Advantageous, which had contributions from Bartees Unusual, Jeff Rosenstock, Chris Farren, and extra. At this time, the venture of Brooklyn musician Elise Okusami is asserting its follow-up, The whole lot Is Love And Demise. “Get Out” is out now with a music video directed by Paul DeSilva.

“‘Get Out’ is about preventing your mind and melancholy when it’s making an attempt to immobilize you,” Okusami defined. “I wished to do a video on movie, and the inspirations have been Buffy and The Outsiders. So we figured if we have been going Buffy anyway, would possibly as properly make it about actually preventing your demons and the concept for the video was born. Paul and Liz and I had a bunch of talks placing the concept collectively, and I’m very happy with the way it got here out.”

DeSilva added:

The idea for “Get Out” got here largely from Elise who wished to create a combat scene homage to some favorites like Buffy The Vampire Slayer and The Outsiders. With the lyrics being a kind of rallying name to combat again towards melancholy, we settled on a demon character who would steal a logo of her tranquility and he or she would chase him down, stopping at nothing till she had regained that peace. Capturing on movie was the plain option to get the gritty, textural high quality we have been on the lookout for and Cinematographer Martin Parsekian did a fantastic job capturing the temper, particularly in the course of the chaotic combat scene. We hope you take pleasure in our video for Oceanator’s “Get Out!”

The whole lot Is Love And Demise is Okusami’s first album with revered producer Will Yip. Okusami performs guitar, bass, synths and drums; there’s assist from Yip on drums and different percussion, in addition to her brother Mike Okusami on bass and piano and extra instrumentation from Megan Siebe, Andrew Whitehurst, Eric Sherman and David Haik.

“The sensation that these songs have been giving me was that they wanted to be an enormous, loud rock band with shredding guitars,” Okusami stated concerning the album, and that depth will be heard on “Get Out.” Test it out beneath.
